My name is Jon and I'm a Product Designer from England 🏴
After the mind-numbing year of tedium that was 2020, I felt my 8-year London stint had run its course. Since then I've been hopping from place to place, working from new destinations, with frequent trips back to the UK.
Why did you write this?
After staunchly refusing to write a travel blog for years, I made a huge U-turn and did just that. I will blame it on some particularly strong coffees one afternoon in Nairobi and an urge to design something outside of work.
Why should I listen to you?
The articles I've written aren't intended to be exhaustive travel guides, but rather serve as a reference point if you're looking to explore somewhere new to work from.
I wouldn't claim to have acquired local grade knowledge on any of the destinations but I do a depth of research prior, with lots of on the ground trial and error. Hopefully, some of those learnings will be useful for you too. At the very least, you can be assured a high quality espresso.
Reflecting on the past few years, it's been an incredible experience to see so many new places I wouldn't have otherwise visited and met some fantastic people along the way.
For all the design nerds out there, I utilized Webflow, using the CMS to store the data for each location and extensively leveraged Chat GPT to compensate for my primitive understanding of JavaScript for some tweaking.
